So long as you can use a machine and have a project in place you will enjoy this class. You are welcome to bring along any dressmaking or craft project. Book as many or as few of these sewing classes as and when you require–perfect for busy lifestyles. The topics we aim to cover in this lesson: Tuition will be tailored to your needs and may include from the following – *How to read, cut out and follow a commercial pattern * How to transfer all pattern markings on to your fabric * How to grade and alter a pattern * Tips on how to insert zips, darts, buttonholes and which seams to use when. * How to press correctly and achieve a professional finish * Methods of putting a project together MATERIALS NEEDED: You will need to bring an existing project or a pattern of your choice, either craft or clothing as well as the required fabric. If possible for Dressmaking projects please choose a multi size pattern. Commercial pattern sizing tends to work out smaller than dress sizes of ready made clothing so please check to ensure your basic measurements fall within the size range on the pattern. Any Haberdashery you may need (We have a small haberdashery in the studio) We have sewing machines for you to use but if you would like to bring your own please advise us at the time of booking REFRESHMENTS: Tea, coffee and delicious cake are included in your lesson
